Easter Egg Hunts

We got up this morning so we could attend the Levan Easter Egg Hunt.  We went over for the breakfast at 9am.  Holy cow, it was SO cold!  When we left my parents house it wasn't even 40 degrees yet!  I had only  brought jackets for my boys and we needed full on Winter coats.  We pretty much froze!

We ate a cold pancake breakfast :)  The best part was the hot chocolate to warm us up.  The Easter Bunny was at the breakfast and was making the rounds.  We called him over to get a picture with us before he got too busy.
Love Ryan's face with the Easter Bunny!

After breakfast, we went and stood in the sun to try and get warm.  It was frigid!
We had the boys put their hands in the pants pockets to keep warm.  The jackets I bought them last fall didn't have pockets on them, so lame!  They look like such big boys!!

After waiting and waiting in the freezing cold wondering what the devil we were waiting for to get the hunt started, we realized that the actual Easter Egg hunt didn't start until 10am!  We could have skipped the cold breakfast and just came over at 10am for the hunt.  Oh well, we'll know better for next year.

The hunt was really fun.  Even though Ry is 4, we just had him hunt eggs with Ethan and Jake in the 0-3 year old hunt :)  We gave the boys a plan of attack so they could get the most eggs as possible.  We told them to run for the fence and start gathering eggs.  Ethan and Ryan were maniacs gathering eggs like mad.  Jake wasn't so sure.  I would tell him to pick up an egg and he would flat out tell me, "no."  He opted for the candy scattered throughout the grass.

The kids looked through a few of their eggs and discovered that some of them had money in them!  Ryan ended up with $3, Madeline got $3, and Jake got $2.  Woot, woot!

After the hunt, we went back over to my parents house and hung out until the next party.  We actually hit up a little yard sale at Old Barn Storage.  One of my dad's storage unit tenants was selling some of the stuff out of her storage unit so we decided to go and take a look.  My boys got some toys that we didn't need.  But Em and Joe got a good buy on some cabinets they are going to hang in their garage.
My dad's beautiful tulips and daffodils in bloom.

We headed into Nephi around 11:45a for the Jackson Family Easter Egg hunt at my Aunt Lisa's house.

We ate lunch first and then the kids hunted for eggs in Lisa's yard.  This hunt was a little harder for my boys--to make things fair, every kid is assigned a number.  They can only hunt for that number on the egg.  My boys don't really get the concept yet so they would pick up an egg and say "is this mine?".  They have fun anyway.
Sophie and Nick patiently waiting to hunt eggs.

My boys hunting eggs. Thank goodness it started to warm up.

Jim emptied their eggs for them.
My family with Grandma Jackson.

My mom with her mom, Marcile.

Grandma J with her kids, missing Uncle Scott.

These are the outtakes of trying to get a decent picture of these guys :)  Bart is always being a comedian.  He stuck gum on his teeth for the picture, lol.

My boys were in dire need of a nap so we headed back to home shortly after the egg hunt was over.

My sister needed me to stop at the Eckhardt's house (the girls that babysit for us) and pick up some vinyl from their aunt Valerie Gibson Anderson.  They had this fun photo booth set up that they insisted I try.  The pictures actually turned out pretty cute.  They told me to get Jim from the car and get a picture with him.

We went home after picking up the vinyl.  I went outside to check things out since our grass was snow covered when we left yesterday.

I'm turning into my dad taking pictures of our flowers and yard.  BUT, I love looking back at the pictures to see how much things have grown and progressed each year :)

We decided to color a few more eggs at our house.  The boys were thrilled.  They each got to color a dozen eggs.

Jake coloring eggs with Jim's help.  Jake's favorite color to dye eggs was pink :)  I love the picture of Jake with his hand on his hip.

Ryan's favorite color to dye his eggs was green, of course.

We had a fun filled day of hunting eggs.  I think we're ready for the Easter Bunny to stop by tomorrow.

Coloring Eggs at Grandma's

I got up and went to the gym this morning around 6:40ish. It was just starting to snow very lightly.  I knew it was going to snow today, but I wasn't aware how much.  When I came out of the gym around 8:30am my car was covered.  Of course I had already taken my window scraper out of my car so I had to use my sun shade to help get all of the wet, heavy snow off of my windows so I could see.  I heard Lacy yell my name as she was scraping her car--she was using Krew's sword to scrape her windows, lol.

When I got home, we got ready for the day, packed our bags, and headed to Levan.  We decided to go and stay the night in Levan so we could go to the Levan Easter Egg hunt at 9am on Saturday morning before heading into Aunt Lisa's for our family Easter Egg hunt.  When I told Ryan we were going to go and stay at Grandma's house in Levan, he informed me that he wouldn't like to stay lots of nights, 6 nights!  He's pretty funny.  He's hell bent on staying more than one night though.  Since we'd be in Levan, we made plans to color eggs with grandma & grandpa and the Eyre's around 3:30pm.

Ryan has been talking about coloring eggs since last Easter so I thought he'd be so excited to color eggs.  Emilee and I got the coloring cups all set up and had the kids gather around.  Ryan was pretty excited to color eggs, but he actually got kind of bored with it after a while.  I was surprised.

Ethan wanted to smell the egg dye :)

We had plenty of eggs to color so I think the rest of the kids had a good time and got to color as many eggs as they wanted to.  We did have a few eggs crack so we ate some hard boiled eggs.  Ryan saw Madeline eating an egg so he decided to try one.  He would take really small bites and he had to put salt and pepper on the egg before each bite, lol.

After we were finished coloring eggs, we made Papa Murphy's pizzas for dinner.  Grandma had made a batch of brownies with cream cheese frosting for dessert, too.

Ryan and Jake were dying to go up to Em & Joe's house.  They went up to play for a bit with Joseph while we cleaned up grandma's house.  Joseph sent me this picture from his phone ;)  They were loving playing Mario Kart!

The kids had a good time playing.  Ethan is planning a trip to St.George and California, lol.  He told me that we could come with.  I asked if he had some money.  He thought about it for a minute and then said, "My mom has some in her brown bag (meaning her purse)."  I about died laughing--too funny.

Silly Day at Preschool

It was silly day at preschool today.  I nearly forgot, too!  At the last minute, I grabbed a button up shirt out of the closet and put on Ry backwards. We grabbed his Green Lantern glasses (they were out of his happy meal a couple of weeks ago) and called it good!

When we got to school, none of the kids looked like they were dressed very silly.  I questioned myself and wondering if it was the wrong day?  I usually just drop Ryan off, help him take his shoes off, and then send him downstairs by himself.  Today, I walked him to the classroom to make sure I had dressed him silly on the correct day.

Sure enough, Miss Tiffany was dressed pretty silly :)  She had mismatched clothes on, her hair was done up all crazy, she had two different earrings in.  Whew!

After school, we decided to write with chalk outside.  Ryan wrote his name and it was SO cute!  Oh, and in his favorite color green of course!
Jake using his left hand to color.  Sometimes he uses his left and sometimes he uses his right--he may be ambidextrous!
Our tulips are coming up; they are so pretty!

Errands

After working out this morning, we decided to make a trip to Old Navy.  Julee came and worked out this morning so we loaded the kids up (and Julee) in Lacy's SUV and headed to Orem.  Yes, sweaty and un-showered for the day :)

We found some really cute stuff and a few bargains that were too good to pass up.  The kids all did pretty good in Old Navy.  Except I had to buy both of my boys a toy (a microphone) and Jake threw a fit over a stupid stuffed Sponge Bob toy!  We don't even watch Sponge bob so I don't know how he knows of him??  Anyway, we're the proud new owners of a stuffed Sponge Bob.

After Old Navy, we went and got some lunch at Zupas.  We don't get to go there, well ever, because Jim doesn't like it.  It was the first time my boys had been there and they ate all of their food.  I don't know if it was a fluke and they were hungry, or if it's because they like Zupas :)  Let's say it's because they like Zupas, ha ha.

Jake fell asleep on the way home.  Julee thought it was funny that he had his foot propped up on his leg so she snapped this pic.
He stayed asleep even after we got back to Spanish Fork.  I even had to un-belt the seat and put him in my car--I lifted him while sitting in the seat.  Nearly killed myself because it was so heavy, but he stayed asleep :)  While I was lifting Ryan into the car (yes, I lifted him to the car while he was in his car seat, too.  He wasn't that bad.  Maybe it was so hard to lift Jake because it was my 2nd time doing it), Lacy was listening to Jake breathe while he slept.  She said he sounded exactly like Kam--his snoring, how his chest looks like it was going up and down, his lack of breathing, etc.  I decided I would call and see about taking Jake in to another ENT for a second opinion.

Jake even stayed asleep after I un-belted him from his car seat and carried him inside.  He was sleepy.  Ry even took a nap when we got home, too.

We had a fun afternoon running errands!
