Some Cute Pics

Today was another chill day.  We didn't do much but I got a couple of cute pics that I wanted to post.

Jake still has mush and fruit in the mornings for breakfast.  My dad loves mush, too (ok, it's really just Cream of Wheat).  SO, I always make him a bowl when I make Jake's.  Here they are after eating breakfast this morning.
Jake's getting pretty tricky.  He can hold his own sippy cup and he even knows how to tip it up to get a drink.  Ryan could always hold his own cup, but he didn't figure out how to tip it up for a long time.
Ryan loves to eat ice when we're in Levan.  Here he is playing/eating ice :)
Just a pic of Jake's cute mug :)
Jake can open drawers and cupboards.  He's pretty good at making messes.  The only bad thing is he shuts his fingers in the drawers alot.  He hasn't quite figured out that he can't close the drawer while he still has his fingers in the drawer.

Happy 3rd Anniversary

It is Jim and my 3rd wedding annivesary today.  He is in Arkansas at a school and I got to go to the dentist and get two cavities filled (gross, I know--I've even been flossing daily, something I never used to do and I still got dang cavities!)  The dentist did tell me that pregnancy can be hard on your teeth so that's what I'm blaming--oh, and my massive sweet tooth :)

Anyway, I just wanted to let Jim know that I love him and I'm so glad we got married 3 years ago today!

Yet Another Doctor Appointment for Ryan and his allergies...

We took Ryan to see a different doctor today.  I've taken Ry to our pediatrician several times to see what we can do to help with his allergies--but mainly his STUFFY nose (only because the stuffy nose is what stays around--the eye swelling comes and goes)!  I called my friend Lacy to see what she gives her little boy for allergies.  She gives him Claritin or Zyrtec.  I've been using them for a month or so now because of Lacy's advice, not a doctor.  The pediatrician told me to just keep giving him Claritin and some days I may need to give him a dose of Benadryl on top of the Claritin.  I tried that for a couple of days and it made Ryan super tired and DIDN'T help with the stuffiness.

I went out and ran some errands with Lacy last Thursday.  While I was out, Jim called and asked if Ryan had had lunch because he wouldn't eat anything and he was also wheezing.  I told Lacy and she said I should try her pediatrician.  I called and made an appointment but Jim said he didn't think it was necessary to take him in.

Now, we're down in Levan staying while Jim is gone and Ryan still cannot breath.  We had to run up to my house to meet with the fence guy to have our fence re-measured (long story, ugh) so I decided to make an appointment for Ryan to see Lacy's pediatrician.

I'm so glad I took Ryan to see Dr. Peterson with Utah Valley Pediatrics in Payson.  First, I love that they have seperate entrances for well children and sick children.  Ryan really isn't sick per se, he has allergies, which to me is different than having the flu.  Second, the nurse and doctor were awesome.  My mom came with me.  She too like Dr. Peterson and said now I know what a good doctor acts like :)  She didn't like the doctor that delivered Ryan.  I switched doctors and had Dr. Nance deliver Jake.  She said the same thing when I switched--now I know what a good doctor is like, haha.

Dr. Peterson gave us a few different medications to try and referred us to an allergist!  YAY!!  Or should I say finally!  I take Ryan to see the allergist on May 18th.   Until then Ryan will be on Nasonex to help with his stuffiness and Zyrtec nightly.

Jim's in Arkansas, so you know where we are :)

The boys and I are staying in Levan for the next two weeks while Jim is in Arkansas at another school.  Jim left early this morning so we went to Levan after we got ready and packed.  We got to Levan around 2pm right as my mom was getting home from church.  As she walked in the door, she said we needed to and take some pictures of the flowers outside because they are gorgeous so we did.
Ryan and Jake--it's not the best picture.  We could not get them to look the same way and smile at the same time :)
Jake wanted to pull the flowers.  We all know that is a big no-no in my dad's garden :)
The yellow tulips in the front yard.  The red tulips in this planter have already came and gone.
Jake on the big rock in the front yard.  We had to snap the pictures quick because we weren't sure if he could sit on the rock.  My mom was getting nervous so she got behind the rock just in case.  If you look close, you can see her green shirt behind the rock :)

The rest of the day was pretty relaxed.  We had Sunday dinner and then played.

3rd Anniversary Date

I know--I look like crapola, but what can you do.  My hair wasn't cooperating today

I haven't been taking many pictures since I can't get my camera to download my pictures.  I've come to the realization that I need to send my camera to Canon to be fixed and I'm not happy about it.  I will be without a camera for 1 week MINIMUM. Irritating.  The only good thing is the camera is still under warranty so it won't cost me anything.

Anyway, I had a pretty productive day today.  I got up and went to the gym in Orem today.  Kristen, my favorite instructor, was teaching a pump class at 8:15am so I decided to go.  I went a little early so I could do some time on the elliptical machine first then go to the hour pump class.

After the gym, Jim wanted to get the thatch up on the back lawn so we could get Dwayne's mower back to him before Jim leaves for 2 weeks.  While he mowed, I pruned a couple of bushes and then raked up thatch.  Raking up dead grass is a work out in itself.  It is HARD WORK.

Jake was getting tired so I took him in for a nap around 11am.  While I put Jake down, Jim and Ryan took the 6 bags of dead grass to yard dump and picked up some lunch for us at Gandalfo's.  I made our bed, put laundry away, unloaded the dishwasher, and picked up the house while Jim and Ry were gone.  When they got back, we had a picnic outside.

While Jake slept, I planted two bushes--bushes that we had to move so we could pour concrete.  I've never planted a bush so this was a big thing for me.  I was pretty proud of myself :)  Jake woke up shortly after I finished planting the second bush so I went and got him from his crib and got him some lunch.  Ryan came in while I was feeding Jake.  He was FiLThY!  So I changed his clothes and his diaper and put the movie Cars on for him to watch.  I thought he would sit and watch the movie and take a nap, but no he watched the whole movie.   But, while Jake and Ry watched the movie I vacummed the floors and mopped the kitchen and front entry way.  Then I went and jumped in the shower to get ready to go out to dinner with Jimmy :)

My mom came to watch the boys so Jim and I could go out to celebrate being married for 3 whole years.  Jim was in Iraq for our 1st anniversary and  he was home for our 2nd but we didn't do anything spectacular.  Since Jim will be in Arkansas for our actual 3rd anniversary, I decided we should at least go out to dinner this year.  We were going to go see a movie, too, but just because we could actually go to a movie there wasn't one we wanted to see.  SO, we went and got Jim some new shoes instead.  After we went to dinner at Outback Steakhouse--our favorite place to eat.  Then we went to the Sweet Tooth Fairy and got a sweet treat to take home.

We were home by 7pm.  We chatted with my mom while she ate and had the sweet treat we brought her.  Then she left so we got Ry in the tub (mom had already got Jake in the tub.  I guess they played in the sand and he had sand everywhere.  It had got in his diaper, too and was starting to give him a rash).  I put Jake to bed while Jim got Ryan in his jammies.  I helped Jim get packed and then packed up my clothes to go stay in Levan for two weeks.

Thanks mom for coming up and watching the boys so Jim and I could go out to dinner.  We both really appreciate it.  It was so nice to go out to dinner with just me and Jim.  I love Jim so much and I don't know what I'd do with him ;)

Birthday Dinner @ Zupa's

We met at Zupa's tonight in American Fork to celebrate Eliana's birthday.  We had a good time chatting and eating our yummy food.  I haven't been to Zupa's in so long.  Jim hates the place for some odd reason.

After dinner we went over to Old Navy to shop the Stuff n' Save event.  We got some pretty good deals.  Eli, Max, Emilee, and Dallin went home after going to Old Navy.  My mom, Molly, and I went to Kohl's afterwards to see if they had anything good.

Jim had put both boys to bed by the time I got home.  I should have stayed out late and partied!  We had a good time though.

Happy Birthday Eliana!  We hope you have a good day :)

Sandbox

Jim put the boys in the backyard in the sandbox to play.  I was inside in the kitchen cutting up some veggies for dinner.  Jim was in the front yard running the thatcher over the front lawn again.  I was nervous about leaving the boys to play without close adult supervision, but Jim assured me they'd be fine.

I could hear the boys from where I was in the kitchen, but I couldn't see them.  I would walk over to the sliding door and check on them every few minutes or so.  They were both laughing and having a good time so I continued to get dinner ready.  A few minutes later Ryan had Jake REALLY laughing.  Then Jake started to cry a bit.  I ran to the door to see what was going on and I about died!!

Ryan had been pouring sand ALL over Jake!  Jake must have thought it was pretty funny to begin with, but then I think it got in his eyes and that's when he started to cry.

I took Jake out front to show Jim.  Jim thought it was hilarious and said we needed to take a picture.  He ran inside to get the camera.

Jake looked like the boys on the movie "The Sandlot" when they are trying to get the baseball back from The Beast and the vaccuum cleaners blow up leaving them covered in dust.  Yeah, that's exactly what Jake looked like.  He had sand EVERYWHERE!
I wish we would have got a close up of Jake's hair.  He had tiny rocks and dirt in his hair :)
He was still as happy as ever though!!

I took Jake inside and gave him a sponge bath.  I held him over the sink and rinsed his hair out.  We were going back outside though so I didn't want to get him in the tub and in his jammies just yet.

Jake and I went back out and Ryan pushed Jake in the coupe while Jim and I raked up the thatch.  Did I mention that is hard work?  Wowza!!  Anywho, Jake's head started bobbing while riding in the coupe.  He was DOG tired.  I picked him up and he didn't wake up like he usually does.  I carried him inside and laid him down and he still didn't wake up.
He looks like "light as a feather, stiff as a board" haha.  He slept for about 20 minutes and then woke up.  I didn't want him to sleep too long because it was almost time to get ready for bed.

Tonight we learned that we can't leave Jake and Ryan alone in the sandbox for too long :)

While Jim's Away, We'll Go Play!

Jim had drill this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so the boys' and I packed up and went to stay the weekend in Levan.

April 16, 2010:

On Friday, we went with Grandma up to Salt Lake to get her a Sergeant Steam.  My mom and I both saw the girls on Good Things Utah use the Sergeant Steam to clean Nicea's bathroom a few weeks ago.  Ever since then, we've both wanted a steam cleaner.  My mom called a couple of ladies in Nephi who are clean freaks and have a Sgt. Steam.  After talking to one lady in particular, my mom was sold.  Sgt. Steam was running a special so we decided to go to SLC and see about getting a steam cleaner.

After watching the demo, I was seriously so close to buying my own steam cleaner.  They are FABULOUS!!  Maybe one of these days...for now, I'll make use of my mom's cleaner cleaning her house :)

We went to Cafe Rio for lunch after getting the steamer and then we headed back to Spanish Fork to get my car and head to Levan for the rest of the weekend.

Charlie & Eliana brought Max down for the weekend.  They were going to Las Vegas to a concert.

April 17, 2010:

On Saturday we had a pretty chill day.  We played, went to the park, I got to break in the Sgt. Steam,  and the boys played in Grandpa's sprinklers.

Ryan and Max were pretty territorial about the toys.  Notice Ryan is hiding the police car under the blanket so Max can't get it :)
Max doing his devilish grin! lol
The boys took a nap together on grandma's bed.
I used the tear free, spray sunscreen on Ryan before going to the park.  It must has got in his eyes or something because his eyes were watering and he wouldn't open his eyes.  Yes, the sunscreen is even supposed to be tear free.
I didn't take a picture of him with his eyes closed.  He wouldn't open them.  I felt bad :(
Max swinging at the park
Jake had fun playing on the playground
Max finally decided to try the slide after we convinced him it was fun :)
It was hard work playing.  Jake had to stick his tongue out :)
Ryan inside of the tube.
Ryan loved climbing up this rock thing and then going down the slide.
Max went down the slide about 100 times after he found out how fun it was!
Jake had fun playing in the dirt, too.
Ryan chased Max around the park.  Ry loves to chase and be chased :)
After dinner, we went outside to sit on the porch.  Grandpa's sprinklers came on and we couldn't keep Ryan and Max out of them.
Ryan tickling Max :)
Grandpa, Grandma, and Jake on the porch swing
Grandpa and Jakey--Jakes loves Grandpa!  He'll point and reach for Gramps.
Some of my dad's pretty yellow tulips.
Some more of my dad's flowers

April 18, 2010:

Today we went to church in Levan with Grandma and Grandpa.  Sometimes I wonder why I even try and go to church--it's pretty much just a wrestling match for me.

After church, we got ready to head to Herriman to celebrate Dallin's 5th birthday.

Jake playing in the sand at the Eyre's house.
Ryan had to play in the sand, too.
The birthday boy--Dallin!
Joseph in his lunch lady apron :)
This is the best picture I got of Dal's cake.  Jim was still at drill and I was a little busy making sure Ryan and Jake were taken care of so I didn't get the best pictures at the party :(
