Ahh, Sunday

After church today, the boys wanted to go outside and play.  It actually snowed a skiff today but it wasn't too cold.

Jake being silly.
Jake going down to play.
He was being so silly for some reason--made for some cute pictures though.
Ryan had to mow the snow.  He asks to go outside and mow the snow at least once a day.
Jim decided to make a batch of cinnamon rolls.  We made a batch a few weeks ago and didn't cook them long enough.  He decided to give the recipe another shot and it worked out great this time.  Jim makes a pretty mean cinnamon roll.  He also made a really good pork roast that he'd injected with a marinade.
Jake and Ryan decided to get under the bar stools while waiting for dinner.  They thought they were pretty cool.

Hayden's Basketball Game

I needed to run a few errands so I called my mom to see what she was doing on Saturday.  She wanted to go and watch Hayden play basketball.  SO, we decided to run my errands and watch Hayden play ball.

We had to be to Taylorsville by 9am--early!  Of course, Jake slept terribly last night (I don't know what it is--every time I have to get up early--Black Friday, for example,--one or both of my boys gets up in the night.  It was Jake last night.  He got up at 3am and would not go back to sleep.  He ended up sleeping in our bed and he SNORES so Jim and I didn't get any sleep, ugh).  BUT, I was able to get up and get ready and we made it to the game on time.

Hayden did a really good job playing basketball.  It was fun to get to watch him play.

After the game, we went to Amy's house for an hour or so to visit.  Then my mom and I went and got some lunch at Cafe Rio.  We ran my errands after lunch and then went home.  It was a really good day, but I was oh so tired when I got home :)

Dinner @ Carl's Jr.

While I was getting my haircut this afternoon, Ryan told Jim that he wanted a burger with cheese, french fries, and a coke for dinner.  Jim told me when I got home and I was completely fine going out for dinner--I wasn't in the mood to cook :)  SO, we went to Carl's Jr. for dinner.

When we first got to Carl's, there was only two other kids in the play area.  It got busier and busier though.  By the time we left, it was a full on circus.  Jim was so ready to leave :)

Jake loves to give bones--he kept giving Jim bones at dinner.
Ryan had a blast playing and running around.
Jim wasn't too thrilled--he kept asking when we were going to leave :)
Ry playing with the driving wheels.
Ryan is pretty good about eating his burger and french fries.  He can almost eat the whole burger.
Jake isn't so good with eating his burger just yet.  He drinks all of his coke though, lol.
Ryan and Jake bonked heads the other day.  You can see his pretty green bruise above his eye in this picture.
Jake was ticked that Ryan wouldn't let him drive so he was doing a pretty good back bend to let him know he was mad.  We convinced the boys to go by telling them we'd go get an ice cream cone--it worked though :)
We drove to Arctic Circle and got them a courtesy cone.  Jake was loving his ice cream cone--he was a mess by the time we got home.
Ryan enjoying his ice cream cone.
Jim grabbed Jake's face a few days ago when he was being naughty and said, "Listen! Quit hitting (err whatever he was doing that got him in trouble).  SO Jake's new thing is to grab Jim's face and say, "Listen!"  It's so funny.

After we put the boys to bed, Jim and I watched "Eat, Pray, Love" with Julia Roberts.  It was just ok.  On the sitcom 30 Rock, Tina Fey makes fun of Julia Roberts' laugh.  SO, whenever Julia would laugh in the movie it would remind me of 30 Rock and crack me up.

Playing in the Sandbox...in January

The weather has been semi-warm for January (ok, really it's only been like 30 degrees or a bit warmer, but that feels warm compared to how cold it has been) so the boys have been going outside to play.  It's good for them to get oustide and get some fresh air :)

They love playing in the sandbox.  I just have to grin and bear it--they are usually covered in wet sand when they are ready to come inside.  It's pretty much a nightmare to clean up, ugh.

Play Date with Kam & Krew

Lacy and her boys came over this afternoon.  Lacy helped me make some cupcake liners for Ryan's upcoming 3rd birthday.  We also made some cupcake toppers and a birthday banner.  I know, Ryan's birthday is still over a month away.  BUT, sometimes its hard for us to get together so we decided we better get what we can done while we have a chance to get together.

The boys had tons of fun playing.  I think Ryan ran about 10 miles chasing after Kam; he loves playing with Kam.  I'm sure Kam gets sick of Ryan though.

Jim had to go to a meeting at Camp Williams so Lacy and I were going to do dinner together (Spencer is out of town, too).  BUT, Rich and McKell came home after school and made dinner so they let us eat with them :)  We fed the boys mac n' cheese and we had pulled pork, twice baked potatoes, carrots, and asparagus.  It was delicious.

The boys were sitting on the couch watching t.v. while Lacy and I ate our dinner.  I tried to get a good picture of them but it was nearly impossible :)  They were all too interested in the t.v. And I'm not sure what Jake is doing, ha ha.

I had to take several pictures (I didn't post them all)--I never got them all looking at me in any of the pics.

I had to go to my photo shop class at 8pm that I am taking through community ed.  Jim wasn't home from his meeting just yet so McKell and Rich watched the boys for me until Jim got home.  They actually got the boys to go to bed before Jim made it home--thanks guys!

Semi Warm Day

The sun was shining and it was kind of warm out so we decided to go outside and play.  Ryan was ecstatic.

Jake had fun pushing the lawn mower around.  Notice, I only put jackets and hats on the boys.  It seriously felt way nice outside.
They got to run and play.  It was good to get outside.

They got their hands dirty in the sandbox.
They had a blast digging and playing in the sand.
Ryan wasn't having anything to do with my picture taking.  This was the best I could get and it was after about the 100th time of asking him to turn around and look at me.
Jake got under the porch and went and sat in the coupe.  My boys totally love that thing, still.
From this picture, it doesn't look like it was that warm out but it was.  I'm so glad we were able to get outside and enjoy some fresh air--it was a good change of pace for the day...until Jake got in the mud, ugh.   Then it was back inside :)

OH, I went to the doctor this morning, too.  Turns out I have a sinus infection and I'm on antibiotics now.

Marriage Enrichment Seminar

I got an email from the Family Readiness Group leader a few weeks ago about a marriage enrichment seminar in St. George.  I've been wanting to go to one to see what they are all about ever since Jim got home from Iraq but we've never been able to go.  BUT, this time things worked out where Jim didn't have drill and my mom would watch our boys so we could go.

Friday January 21, 2011:

After packing our bags and getting ready, we got in the car and headed to Levan.  We got to my parents house around Noon and had lunch with them.  We stayed and got all of the boys stuff situated and played for a bit.  Around 1:45pm, we got on the road and headed to St. George.  We made one stop in Beaver to get a drink and some cheese curd.  We got to St. George around 4:30pm and checked into our hotel.

We relaxed in our room for an hour or so.  Jim brought our lap top down so he could load Photoshop on it for me.  I'm taking a community ed class to learn how to use photoshop and I have homework so I had to get the program loaded on my computer :)

There was an ice cream social (that wasn't mandatory) that night at 7pm.  BUT, we opted to go out to dinner and a movie instead :)  We went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner.  It was divine--I LOVE their house salad and chicken on the barbie.  Delicious!  Jim got prime rib or something like that, ha ha.  Then we went and got tickets to see "True Grit".  My sister and mom had seen the movie and said it was really good so we decided to see it.  Oh man, it was such a great movie.  I would highly recommend it!
After the movie, we came back to the hotel and watched a little tv before going to bed.  We had to be up and ready by 7:30ish so we went to bed early.  Our neighbors decided to have a late night though and they weren't quiet about it.  I heard them about 1:30 in the morning discussing when they'd get up, etc., ugh...people are rude.

Saturday January 22, 2011:

On Saturday, we got up, got ready, and headed downstairs for the continental breakfast.  It wasn't too bad, but I wasn't digging the eggs or the biscuits and gravy.  I opted for a bagel and some juice :)  Oh, and a cinnamon roll that wasn't too red hot, but I have a terrible sweet tooth and I couldn't resist.

After breakfast, we went to the conference room for the seminar.  I had no idea what to expect so I was a little nervous for it to start.  I had to keep telling myself everyone was there to learn :)  And we ended up learning some really good things--good ways to communicate and listen to each other more effectively.

The hotel also kept us really well fed.  A fruit tray, cookies, and drinks were brought in around 10:30am for our first 10 minute break.  I actually felt like I needed some caffeine but I wasn't hungry.  Jim's allergic to melon and grapes so I skipped out on the fruit and had a cookie or two :)  They were really good.  For lunch at 12:30pm, they had a taco bar.  I know, it sounds disgusting, but it was actually really good.  About an hour after lunch, they brought in a vegetable tray, brownies, and more drinks.  We got done at 3pm--I felt like all I did was sit, listen, and eat today :)

Jim and I after lunch waiting for the second half of the seminar to start.
This cute baby sat in front of us.  For being 10 months old, he did really well.  My boys would've been bawling and squawking; they never would've lasted all day in a seminar :)

After the seminar got out at 3pm, we went back to the room and took a little siesta and relaxed for a few.  Around 4ish we got up and ran a few errands and did a little shopping--Jim was thrilled.  Then we decided to go to dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  Holy cow, that place is busy.  We had to wait over an hour to get in.  It was pretty tasty though so the wait was worth it :)

We headed back to the hotel after dinner and went to bed.  I actually wasn't feeling too red hot.  Before coming to St. George I had been a little congested and having headaches every so often.  I got really stuffy and the headaches were terrible tonight.  I got up around 3am to get some more Tylenol in me.  Jim thought he was keeping me up so he moved over to the other bed :)

Sunday January 23, 2011:

It felt like I had just got to sleep and it was time to get up again, ugh.  I felt terrible--but I got up and got ready so we could get some breakfast before the seminar started at 9am.  It was the same old thing for breakfast and I still wasn't digging it so I had my same old bagel, cinnamon roll, and juice, ha ha.

We took a personality test in class today and mine was spot on.  It was crazy.  We also talked about love languages--I learned that my love languages are to talk and to touch, which is totally me.

We were only in class until 11:30am and then we were dismissed.  Jim and I had already taken our bags to the car and checked out so as soon as class was over we got in the car and headed for home.  Our hotel was in Washington, just right outside of St. George.  So instead of just jumping right on the freeway to come home, we went through Washington, Hurricane, La Verkin, and Toquerville before we got on I-15.  It was kind of fun to see the small towns.

I was totally exhausted from sleeping like crap the night before so I slept a good portion of the way home.  I felt bad because I know Jim was tired, too, but he was a good sport about it.  We didn't make any stops on the way home so we got into Levan at 2:30pm.  They were just sitting down to lunch so we ate with them.

Jake was asleep, but Ryan was happy to see us.  Ryan fell asleep by Jim while I was helping clean up lunch.  Since both boys were asleep, I took advantage and took another nap :)  Jake was so excited to see us when he woke up.  He gave me a big hug and a kiss then laid on my shoulder--made my heart melt.  I love my boys.  We left Levan around 6:30pm to come home.

I think we learned a lot this weekend at the seminar.  It was good to get away, too.  The Army paid for the bulk of the meals (we just had to pay for two dinners) and the room.  The only other expense we had was gas to get down there.  I really appreciate my parents tending our boys, too.  I know it's not the funnest thing in the world to do, but they're always so kind to help me out.  Thanks mom and dad!!

MMHS Ellevs Region Preview

My mom and Emilee were coming up to Molly's drill teams region preview so I decided to tag along.  My aunt Barbara and cousin Jamie also came.  We met at Pizza Factory around 5:30pm to get some dinner.  Jim and the boys came to dinner but headed home after.  Jim wasn't too hip on going to watch the drill team dance, and I wasn't hip on bringing the boys with :)

The Elleves performed along with the JHS Provita and several dance groups from the community.

My mom and Aunt Barbara waiting for the performance to begin.  We got to the school around 6:45pm so we missed out on getting the back row of the bleachers so we could have a back rest, ugh.
Emilee and I at MMHS.  Jamie was using the restroom so she missed out on a picture.  I tried to take one of just her but she refused :)
The teams first performance was their camp dance.  It was really good and they performed it really well.  All I know is the camp dance that we learned ten years ago was a lot easier :)
The next dance was their hip hop routine.  It was also really good.  You can't really see in this picture, but they have crimson high tops on.
One of the positions in their hip hop routine--I thought it looked pretty cool.

Next up was the Military routine.  It was fabulous.
Their kicks were fantastic.  I wish I could still get my leg up that high :)
They also do headstands in the routine.
They do a 360 degree turn while standing on their heads!  Amazing!!  Makes me have a headache just thinking about it :)

Coming out of their headstands...
One part of the routine they lift a girl up while she is doing a leg extension, wow!
I got a lot of pictures of their military routine.  I think it's because they aren't moving around as much so I could get a few decent looking pictures, ha ha.  They did their dance routine, too, but I didn't get any good pictures :(  Their costumes were super cute, too.
Their last routine was their kick where they dress up as Betty Boop.  It was really cute.
They kick throughout the whole dance, hence the reason it is called a kick routine :)
This would make a really cute Halloween costume :)
After the performances, we went and chatted with Molly and got to see Kendrick.  He's getting so big!
Grandma giving Kendrick a snuggle.
Molly with her assistant Marci.
One more picture of Kendrick :)

The Elleves looked fabulous tonight. Good Luck at Region gals; I know you'll do great!!
