We stopped at the Harward Farms corn stand this afternoon so we had corn on the cob for dinner. It was pretty tasty and the boys loved it!

No Bob-bow?
I know I need to get Jake weened from his bottle. It's just too easy to give him a blankety-blank bottle when he whines for one!! He's very persistent, too. As he's tugging on the refridgerator door he'll say, "bob-bow mom. Bob-bow mom. Bob-bow MOM! BOB-BOW MOM!" It finally gets on my nerves and I pretty much chuck a bottle at him--k, not really, but I feel like it, haha.
Yesterday morning as I was unloading the dishwasher, one of the nipples on one of his three bottles was all sticky and nasty?? Not sure what's happening to it but its not usable so I threw it out. He's now down to two functioning bottles and I REFUSE to buy him any more. Last night Jake didn't have any clean bottles for his night time bottle so Jim just got him a sippy cup of milk. Jake didn't complain--didn't mention the bottle once. I about died of shock.
SO, when I left for the gym this morning I told Jim to just give him a sippy cup of milk for his morning drink before he could even menton a bottle. BTW, Ryan decided to get up at 6:15 this morning. I have NO IDEA why he gets up so early these days because as soon as he gets up he tells me he's tired. What the hell!?! I go to the 7:30am step class on Saturday mornings, which just got moved from the Provo gym to the Orem gym, ugh. I set my alarm to wake me up at 6:45 this morning, but Ryan got up so dang early I didn't even need my alarm. Jim got sick in the night--woke up around midnight with a sick stomach. He went downstairs to throw up and slept on the couch so he wouldn't wake me up. I didn't know he was gone until this morning.
Anyway, back to Jake's bottle--Jake hasn't had a bottle ALL day today and we didn't give him one tonight either. He hasn't whined for it once! Two of my summer projects are to potty train Ryan and ween Jake from his bottle. I haven't been able to cross either project off my list yet...Hopefully that will be the end of the bottle--I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Jim and I also worked on the front yard today. We got all of the bark out of the front beds and took it to the dump! Good riddance--the bark looked really nice when we first moved in. But over the two years we've lived here the bark has blown away, been carried away by my boys, or we've thrown it away after we've planted new plants in the flower beds.
The boys got to play in the water this afternoon and water our dead spots in the grass :) They had tons of fun splashing each other!
Jim also spotted and KILLED the snake that's been hanging out in the corner flower bed by the utility boxes. Thank goodness! I was so nervous to clean out the flower beds knowing there was a damn snake roaming around our parts. I'm glad we finally found and killed the nasty thing, BUT the bad news is I'm sure there are more snakes to come this summer, ugh.
The yard dump was out of the black gold compost though. Jim took next week off of work so we're going to go back on Monday to see if they've got another load. As soon as we can get some of the compost, we'll put it down in the front flower beds and ONE of our many summer yard projects will be complete! Wahoo!!
